This paper focuses on fears experienced by the dwellers of the city and the conceptual structure shared on the situations that currently are feared. The results of 130 semi-structured interviews aimed at identifying the most common fears of men and women associated with the city and the conceptual structure underlying these fears are analyzed. The results were analyzed trough a Multidimensional Scaling, which identified the conceptual fear structure of participants to different situations. Actions in an attempt to reduce the perception of insecurity in the city are proposed. - Integral attention to family issues in a family comissioner’s office in Cali, Colombia

The following article aims to present the psychological meanings that are built around legal psychology, by psychologists, lawyers and students of psychology. Natural Semantic Networks were used to collect and process data. It was found that the words associated to the expression “Legal Psychology” are consistent with the traditional definitions; that the definers used by each group are close together, that the hierarchical organization each group assigns to the definer is different, and that the predominance is to relate legal psychology to the practice of forensic psychology. - The “families with well-being” programme and the systemic constructionist approach

This article results from the reflection on experience as coordinators in developing the “Familias con Bienestar” (Families with Well-being) program, sponsored by the Colombian Institute of Family Well-being, where the home visit is used as a device for the construction of change and as an intervention tool oriented to an inclusive discursive, reflective and mobilizing practice that leads to transformations in the family system, in itself as a possibility for social development, for promoting behavioral solidarity, empowerment and selfmanagement as a requirement for mental and emotional health, including a systemic constructionist approach on the stage of psychosocial care for purposes of prevention of domestic violence, sexual and community. - Prevalence of anxiety in students of a university

College students are a risk group for anxiety for their psychological, social and academic demands, and high stress. In order to determine the prevalence of anxiety in students from a private university in Medellin and its association with socio-demographic and academics, a prevalence study with 200 students selected using stratified probability sampling was carried out. The anxiety screening was performed with the Zung scale. We assessed the reliability of the scale with Cronbach’s α, the analysis was performed using summary measures, frequencies, Mann Whitney’s U and chi square in SPSS 21®. The prevalence of anxiety was 58 %. The Zung scale showed excellent reliability with Cronbach’s α of 0.8. The prevalence of anxiety presented a statistically equal distribution by sex and age group, no association was found with the training cycle, academic program, age, credits or occupation. Anxiety was statistically lower in middle-class students. We found a high prevalence of anxiety, which highlights the need to develop educational strategies, identify high-risk students and initiate health interventions opportunely. - Perceptions of psychology students of interpersonal relationships in the college environment: an exploratory study

This article aims to identify the perceptions of undergraduates about the social relationships established in the academic community. Focus Group and Content Analysis were used for data collection and analysis. Two difficulty levels related to the situations experienced by students were listed. It is noteworthy that the subcategories of integration among the students, the good relationship between students and professors, staff and managers were considered easy situations; and subcategories of intolerance and lack of time for the relationship between the students, the lack of commitment of professors, the arrogance and indifference of the staff, and the appreciation of post-graduation over graduation were classified as difficult situations. We suggest the development of training programs in social skills with participants from the academic community, a rich environment of social interactions, highlighting in particular the shortage of work in this regard with the segment of administrative staff. - Verbalization levels and collaborative ill-structured problem solving

Verbalizations of six undergraduate students that collaboratively solved an ill-structured problem were described. It was assumed that verbalizations provided information about metacognitive regulation and problem solving. The verbalizations were categorized into levels to identify verbal expressions that demonstrate both metacognitive regulation and ill-structured problem solving processes. State space grids were used to represent and interpret verbalization levels and illstructured problem solving processes. Results showed predominance of unregulated verbalizations, absence of utterances related to justification generation and superficial monitoring and evaluation. The evidence supports the idea that peer interaction itself does not improve problem solving. The results invite to design problem-solving situations that effectively promote metacognitive regulation. - Impact of mass media over public opinion: about the dangers and prejudices of being adolescents?

This work sought to reflect on the news coverage that is offered, to episodes of violation of law committed by teenagers in Valdivia. Therefore, we proceeded to discourse analysis (Van Dijk, 1990), from a logical interpretative, emphasizing the semantic macro that is built and describes the news. This analysis allowed us to observe that the news linked to young express a sensationalistic and stigmatizing discourse that promotes and perpetuates the reproduction of stereotypes associated with adolescence, characterized by aggression and violence, ongoing breach of the rules and use weapons to intimidate others, as explanatory factors for criminal behavior. Finally, the work reflects the impact caused by mass media and the fragmenting to the person constructed around the adolescence prejudices.

- Bibliometric analysis of scientific output on psychosocial risk at work, 2000-2010

The aim of this study was to describe the scientific production published on psychosocial risk at work in the ProQuest and PsycArticles databases between 2000 and 2010. Data collection was assisted by a grid with bibliometric indicators in three different categories: bibliometric, methodological, and theoretical features of published articles. We identified and analyzed 133 scientific articles on psychosocial risk at work, with the most productive years being 2000 and 2005, with 20 and 19 articles respectively. 30.8 % of the studies were conducted in the United States, the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, reported the highest number of articles (18 %), 90.6 % of the authors belong to the category of pedestrians, 91.7 % of the items are of an empirical nature with a transactional design (65,4 %), questionnaires are most commonly used to assess risk (52.6 %), and the theoretical model of demand-control is the most referenced in publications (39.8 %). - Social skills and information and communications technology as factors associated with the performance of elementary school students affected by forced displacement

The main goal of this paper is to describe the main theoretical framework and findings from the relational analysis of social skills, attitudes to ICT and academic performance reports from a sample made up of teachers (n=9), parents (n=60) and students (n=60) in two elementary schools in the cities of Malambo and Barranquilla, Colombia, who have experienced forced displacement. To this end, a protocol consisting of an informed consent form, the Attitudes towards ICT Questionnaire, the School Conflict Settlement Scales, the MESSY scale for Students and Teachers, a School Behavior Observation Inventory, a Sociodemographic Characterization Questionnaire and a Perception on the use of ICT for parents scale. Results reflect a positive attitude towards the use of ICT on students and teachers, the use of conflict resolution strategies related to exposure to bullying, a higher level of recognition of prosocial behaviors compared with the report on aggressive behavior on the part of teachers and the establishment of statistically significant associations between social skills and prosocial conflict resolution in direct proportion, unlike the inverse relationship between aggressive behavior and prosocial behavior, as well as a directly relationship proportional between prosocial behavior and academic performance and a statistically significant association between the use of ICT and academic performance .
