Aim: this study purpose to identify the entrepreneurial skills of community leaders in the city of Ocaña (Norte de Santander, Colombia), who have the greatest knowledge of the different problems experienced by the communities. Method: a descriptive research with a quantitative approach was carried out, through the application of surveys directed to 107 community leaders of the urban sector of Ocaña, according to data provided by the municipal mayor's office of the town.  Results: The findings show that the community leaders have great strengths in terms of their entrepreneurial skills, although few projects have actually managed to materialize. Discussion: This is due to the fact that one aspect that affects entrepreneurship is the context in which the individual develops, with the purpose of generating and proposing projects to mitigate or respond to the problems in which the leader interacts. The support that the communities receive from government entities, educational institutions and private sector companies is indispensable to make these projects a reality. Conclusions: Based on the results obtained, it can be stated that the proposed objective was achieved, managing to identify the entrepreneurial skills of the community leaders, observing a high entrepreneurial profile in male leaders, between 20 and 40 years old who work as independents.
