Although, in contemporary literature and critical essays, axiology is barely present, the author of this article reflects on the conception of liberty in recent works of most salient representatives of modern Colombian literature. His analysis rest on a variety of aspects of the notion of liberty, showing the lack of appreciation and purpose of life. The literary characters of both works are the reflect image of today's mankind disorientation and prevalent counter-culture forms in society. In comclusion, the author emphasizes the need of and axiological interpretation, ascertaining the ideas of aesthetics as the means of reaching in its entirety all dimentsions of the human being.
