dc.descriptionAbstract: This article presents the findings of a qualitative study aimed at identifying the challenges and opportunities and exploring the experiences of Venezuelan migrants in Colombia and the responses of host communities. Using a methodological design from an interpretative paradigm, data were collected through document analysis, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and participant observation. Data analysis was conducted using the grounded theory approach, identifying patterns, categories, and emerging themes. The results highlight the importance of the Special Stay Permit (PEP) as a governmental measure to regularize the migration status of Venezuelans. Additionally, the crucial role of civil society in providing humanitarian aid and support services is emphasized. In conclusion, the study reveals the need for collaboration between the government and civil society to address the Venezuelan migration crisis in Colombia, underscoring the importance of more effective and humane policies and practices for the integration of migrants.en-US
dc.descriptionResumen: Este artículo presenta los hallazgos de un estudio cualitativo que tenía como objetivo identificar los desafíos y oportunidades explorando las experiencias de los migrantes venezolanos en Colombia y las respuestas de las comunidades de acogida. Utilizando un diseño metodológico desde un paradigma interpretativo, se recolectaron datos a través de análisis documental, entrevistas en profundidad, grupos focales y observación participante. El análisis de datos se realizó utilizando el enfoque de teoría fundamentada, identificando patrones, categorías y temas emergentes. Los resultados destacan la importancia del Permiso Especial de Permanencia (PEP) como medida gubernamental para regularizar la situación migratoria de los venezolanos. Además, se resalta el papel crucial de la sociedad civil en la prestación de ayuda humanitaria y servicios de apoyo. En conclusión, se evidencia la necesidad de colaboración entre el gobierno y la sociedad civil para abordar la crisis migratoria venezolana en Colombia, subrayando la importancia de políticas y prácticas más efectivas y humanas para la integración de los migrantes.es-ES
