The teaching and learning process of team invasion sports should provide players with extensive participation opportunities, which requires methodological choices that prioritize this aspect. Bunker and Thorpe (1986) proposed Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU), in which the teaching and learning process is based on common principles (structural and functional) of sports and, through games, presents problematic situations for players to try to solve autonomously. The objective of this systematic review was to identify and characterize studies in the context of sport initiation with TGfU in invasive sports for children aged 8 to 11. Eleven studies were selected based on the premises of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 (PRISMA). An increase in the number of studies on this topic in recent years was identified, as well as modalities, class characteristics and teacher training. In addition, some gaps were identified, such as the preference for class design based on offensive principles and the isolated analysis of variables of different nature (tactical-technical, physical and psychosocial aspects). - Adventure Body Practices in Teacher Training at Federal Institutes of Northeast Brazil

This research aims to understand how the contents of adventure body practices are considered and developed in undergraduate courses in Physical Education offered by federal institutes in the Northeast, Brazil. It is a qualitative study based on a survey of the institutions conducted in e-MEC and subsequently a search of the course plans and topics in the digital platforms of each institute. Bardin's (2011) content analysis was used, with the main information represented in tables, figures and word clouds. Five campuses were found in the states of Bahia, Ceará and Paraíba, and only one subject focused on adventure, with a focus on sports within this content, reaffirming the need for (r)evolution in teacher training curricula. - Comparative Analysis of the Performance of Futsal Players in Physical Tests with and without a Ball

This study aimed to analyze the body, maturational and physical profile of under-18 futsal athletes and compare performance in tests with and without the ball between starters and substitutes, as well as between different game positions. A descriptive and comparative study was carried out, of a battery of validated physical tests, which are related to the physical qualities inherent to the futsal sport, that is, the greatest possible specificity. The results showed that there are physical differences between the positions, but significantly, only the fixed one showed lower height than the others. Among the starters and substitutes, there was also a variation between the groups, mainly in the 10-meter sprint test. In most of the physical results, the inclusion of the ball generated a significant slowdown in the results, interfering with the tests. It is concluded that the use of greater specificity in the performance of physical tests in futsal, that is, the inclusion of ball handling, often changes the results, and may be a good alternative in the analysis of the athletes' performance improvement. - Transforming Communities through Physical Education: Participatory Action Research

In professional practice there are highlands, where the practice issues are easily resolved through theory and the application of technical research, and there are swamp lowlands, where the educational community identifies problems with greater concern and views easy solutions and magic recipes with skepticism. The aim of this article is to overcome this gap and propose participatory action research as a strategy that, implemented through Physical Education, allows for the reconciliation of theory and practice to transform the socio-historical conditions of the educational communities where it is implemented. The article explores the typology of paradigms and traditions in Physical Education research and characterizes action research as a tool for social transformation. It particularly focuses on participatory action research for its effectiveness in improving specific problems of specific individuals in specific places. - Correlation Between Agility and Health-Related Variables in Spanish Students

The purpose of this research was to analyze the agility levels and its possible associations with independent health-related variables in students from Cáceres in Spain. A total of 360 students of both genders, aged between 11 and 16 years, living in the municipality of Cáceres, Spain, participated in the study. The Shuttle Run test was used to assess the motor component of agility in seconds, classified into five categories (excellent, good, fair, poor or very poor). The data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 27.0.1 software. The results showed that the majority (80.9%) of the students had low agility levels, along with high levels of overall obesity and sedentary behavior. Abdominal obesity showed no association with agility levels in this study. It is expected that the findings can provide new insights/reflections on the health impacts associated with low agility levels. - The Bodily Experience, a Developing Subject of Study in Physical Education

The text presented aims to describe the modes of presence of a discursive practice regarding the body in the Curriculum Project of the Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (PC-LEF)3, linked to its subject of study, the bodily experience. The paper begins with a brief characterization of the concepts of body, corporality and bodily experience, and concludes by outlining a prospective view of the topic within the context of techno-mediated societies. - Use of Transcranial Cognitive Enhancers in Sports: Bioethical Considerations for Teachers and Coaches

The aim was to develop global considerations from the field of Sports Bioethics, addressed to teachers and coaches, regarding the use of transcranial cognitive enhancers. These devices were created to electrically or magnetically stimulate the brain in order to enhance concentration, alertness, or memory. Sports bioethics focuses on investigating the ethical, social, and behavioral implications of this biotechnology, foreseeing that athletes may be unaware of the disadvantages to their health, face sanctions, and indirectly serve their marketers. A documentary review was used. Its achievements correspond to the clinical and sports field, but to a lesser extent. Advertising overestimates its scope. The conclusions emphasize the need to educate teachers and coaches about the bioethical implications of this biotechnology because its designers take advantage of the athletes’ lack of knowledge regarding its effectiveness, the regulatory vacuum and the absence of a legal framework. - Qualidade de vida e práticas corporais

The aim of this study was to compare the impact of physical exercise on the risk of falls in older adults participating in two social programs. Thirty volunteers participated, divided into two groups: Con Burden (GCC), with 11 women and 4 men (75.4±9.1 years) participating in a university extension project, and Sem Carga (GSC), with 12 women and 3 men (66.9±4.2 years) who exercised at an outdoor gym in the same geographic region. GCCs and GSCs were similar in terms of female predominance, while GCCs are longer-lived (p=0.008). Every participant underwent physical-functional assessment with the Berg Balance Scale. The difference between groups was assessed using the Mann-Whitney test (p ≤ 0.05). Data analysis found no significant difference between the groups regarding the results of the MSA (p=0.2) and both groups had a low risk of falling.
