Introduction: This research describes the family dynamics of patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in the municipality of Barrancabermeja (Colombia) in order to approach the state of the family system and how it is affected by this diagnosis. Aim: To describe family structure before and after the diagnosis based on the family genogram, to define family dynamics before and after the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, and to identify personal, family, social and economic impacts on each family group. Materials and methods: Qualitative research; a sample of nine participating families was completed to collect information for the family genogram. Results: The impact of this disease on families is directly related to the stage the patient is on and the symptoms associated with it. As the disease progresses, the subject shows increased dependence due to deterioration of his cognitive and physical functions. Thus, the family provides more care to the patient, which involves great effort, time, adaptation in the lifestyles of family members and reorganization of the family unit. Conclusions: The diagnosis of the disease produces structural and functional changes that alter family dynamics, which are closely related to personal and family life cycles, the degree of deterioration and thestage the patient is on. Family typology and affective bonds established before the diagnosis are decisive for coping with situations that cause risis and instability within the nucleus and to the primary caregiver. - Psychological characterization of romantic passion

Introduction: the romantic passion as a cultural universal has particular nuances that define its different phases: attraction, falling in love, obsessive and desperate love. Along with its conceptualization, there are variables that relate to its experience, such as the historic-socio-cultural premises that create expectations about it, the attributes of sexual personality perceived in the passion object, the behaviors and strategies of seduction used during the passionate event, as well as the sexual satisfaction resulting from its consummation. Objective: the purpose of this research was to characterize each of the passion phases based on the variables related to its experience. Method: we worked with a non-probabilistic sample of 495 residents of Mexico City between 15 and 58 years old who recognized having lived a romantic passion. Results: after some Pearson’s correlation analysis, we identify the effects common to the participants in the description of their experience for the phases, as well as the differential way of feeling romantic passion for men and women. Conclusion: the present investigation was able to broad the conception of the phases of passionate love based on the data related to the PHSC’S, sexual personality, seduction strategies and sexual satisfaction in a Mexican sample. Likewise, what distinguished men and women regarding the experience of these phases was identified and discussed according to the norms and beliefs of the Mexican culture. - Homosexual and Heterosexual University Students’ Attitudes Toward Prostitutes and Prostitution in Bogotá

This is a descriptive study whose group comparison analysis method aimed to identify differences in attitudes toward prostitutes and prostitution on the part of homosexual and heterosexual university students in Bogotá. To this end, the Attitudes Toward Prostitutes and Prostitution Scale was administered to 162 university students from Bogotá between 18 and 27 years old. Results show that there are no differences in attitudes toward prostitutes by groups, but there are differences in attitudes towards prostitution because heterosexual university students had a more negative attitude towards it than homosexual university students. - The Brief Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire: A Viable Alternative to aaq-ii?

Introduction: Experiential avoidance ( ea ) is a central concept in the study of psychopathology from acontextual-behavioral perspective. The Acceptance and Action Questionnaire ii ( aaq - ii ) has become themost commonly used measure of ea . However, some authors have seriously questioned its validity. Inthis context, the Brief Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire ( beaq ) is a promising alternative.Aim: The present study intended to translate the beaq into Spanish and analyze its psychometric prop-erties in a Peruvian sample. Materials and methods: The beaq was back-translated and a group of experts assessed the quality ofthe items. The questionnaire was responded by 376 Peruvian university students. The beaq - ii itemswere then subjected to an exploratory factorial analysis. Reliability estimators (H, α, ωT, ωTR) werealso calculated. Results: The results did not support the supposed unidimensional nature of the beaq . Moreover, theysuggested the presence of two factors called Avoidance of Suffering and Disconnection and Deacti-vation. Only the Avoidance of Suffering factor showed good reliability and could be easily interpreted. Conclusion: Future research should develop a new measure of ea based on the items of the Avoidanceof Suffering factor. It is suggested that researchers continue to use aaq - ii until better measures of ex-periential avoidance are available. - Indicators of Cyberbullying-Related Violence In Teenagers in Ecuador

Aim: To determine the presence of cyberbullying indicators in a sample of schooled adolescents in Ecuador and the most recurrent practices, as well as the existing differences by sex and type of educational institution. Materials and methods: An exploratory, comparative, descriptive study was carried out using the Cyberbullying Questionnaire (cbq) and its victimization supplement (cbq-v). Four hundred and thirty-two students in the tenth year of elementary education and third year of high school participated. Fifty-five point three percent are women and 44.7% are men, with ages between 13 and 22 (m= 15.3 years,sd= 1.13). Results: Minor virtual perpetration is 56.9%, while virtual victimization is 42.8%. Group exclusion, sending of humiliating and insulting messages, and theft of the victim’s identity were the most prevalent indicators of cyberbullying. No differences were found by sex in terms of perpetrating behavior (t = -0.18) or victimization (t = 1.12); but it is present in the prevalence of perpetrating behavior (t =-2.18) in students who come from private educational institutions. Discussion: The results of perpetration and victimization partially match those reported in other interna- tional studies, but the variations need to be explained considering other psychosocial factors.
