The purpose of this study was to compare the coping strategies in health personnel from Villavicencio and Bogotá in Colombia who care for Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients. The design was non-experimental, descriptive, comparative, and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 14 men (33.3%) and 46 women (76.7%) with mean age (M = 35.7; SD = 9.72). The Modified Coping Strategies Scale (EEC-M) was used. Student's t test was applied for unrelated samples, the Mann-Whitney U test, and the one-way ANOVA for the comparison of groups. The results revealed that the most used coping strategies are problem solving (M = 31.52; SD = 5.24) and search for social support (M = 20.35; SD = 5.04). Statistically significant differences were found between the variables: Covid patient assistance and sex in comparison with the coping strategies; however, there weren't differences between groups by age, city, and profession. It is highlighted that the strategies that health professionals use to cope with the assistance of covid and non-covid patients may vary depending on personal resources, the perception of risk and the causes that originate it.
