The objective of the reflection was oriented to investigate the actions that, through formative research, can be carried out in the research hotbeds. Initially, the importance that research has had in the transformation of society is highlighted. In this way, it is specified in the contributions of formative research and research training as challenges of higher education institutions. Methodologically, an exploratory documentary research was carried out, developed in several phases, in the first phase an exploration was carried out in the Scopus database, inquiring about works in formative research in different areas. Next, the projects carried out by the students in their participation in the nursery are identified, and reviewing how their results have contributed to the objectives of the nurseries, but mainly to the formative research in the Computer Engineering program. Finally, it can be concluded that the contributions of the seedbeds contributing to various areas of knowledge. - Editorial

La inteligencia artificial (IA) ha reconfigurado la forma en que interactuamos transformado numerosos aspectos de la vida cotidiana. La IA ha demostrado su capacidad en la optimización de procesos como por ejemplo los algoritmos de aprendizaje automático que proporcionan recomendaciones sobre nuestros intereses o decisiones en diversas actividades que realizamos. Sin embargo, a medida que la IA crece exponencialmente, y a pasos agigantados se convierte en algunos casos en una herramienta indispensable para los seres humanos. Se hace necesario reflexionar sobre su aplicación ética y su impacto en la sociedad. La preocupación por el uso responsable de la IA se ha vuelto cada vez más relevante, especialmente en áreas como la privacidad de los datos, la toma de decisiones automatizada y la posible pérdida de empleos debido a la automatización (Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, 2021). Sin embargo, el auge desproporcionado de la tecnología y la IA puede generar diversos dilemas éticos, que se originan de la fortaleza que tiene la IA para amenazar los derechos humanos, los sesgos de género, la propiedad intelectual, entre otros. Estos riesgos asociados a la IA se suman a las desigualdades y brechas existentes, excluyendo aún más a grupos históricamente marginados (Unesco, 2021). - Graphic organizers: didactic strategy in virtual environments mediated by the identification of learning styles

The low academic levels in basic sciences of engineering programs are a factor of inci- dence in the desertion, reason for which the objective of the investigation was oriented to investigate on teaching-learning strategies for teachers and students, and thus mitigate the causes of losses in academic spaces. Initia- lly, learning styles were identified where the use of graphic organizers as a didactic tea- ching-learning strategy in virtual learning environments (AVA) became evident, which most students placed in visual learning. Me- thodologically, research is placed in the educa- tional context, applying both quantitative and qualitative techniques and instruments; The study sample corresponds to students of ma- thematical logic. The results showed relevant aspects for the improvement of the learning of the numerical systems, especially in the con- version. The findings established the graphic organizers as a strategy of consolidation of learning in the teaching of mathematics for engineering programs in AVA. - Incorporation of an educational software as a pedagogical strategy for the teaching of computational logic

The difficulties in the design and construction of computational algorithms in students and their effect on poor academic performance originated the research project that led to this article. The objective of this research project was the implementation of a pedagogical strategy supported by the educational software App Inventor for the improvement of computational logic in the implementation of algorithms with the Technician in Systems Analysis and Development students in Tulua, Valle del Cauca. Methodologically, a descriptive quantitative research was developed. Firstly, an initial diagnostic test was applied in order to collect data and perform an analysis; afterwards, work sessions were designed with the support of the software App Inventor, and then, a final test was applied. The results identified a satisfactory contribution to the teaching-learning process of the students, which allowed them to build their own knowledge and achieve significant learning. On the other hand, the performance of the students in the classes showed their interest in learning and critical attitude towards the resolution of the different activities proposed. - STEAM COMPETITIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) competencies are oriented towards the formation of science and technology skills for future professionals, contributing to problem solving, scientific advancement and technological progress. In this sense, educational institutions have a commitment in the training of professionals to respond to the acurrent and future needs of society. This article is oriented in a text of reflexive character, in its first part it conceptualizes STEAM competences, and the contribution towards science and technology, then some experiences of the implementation to the curricula are described; and finally, reflections are presented in front of the challenges of the educational institutions in the incorporation of STEAM competences. Methodologically, a bibliometric study was undertaken to support the reflections for this paper. - La tecnología y su uso crítico en los contextos educativos y productivos
