The objective is to expand knowledge about the perception of empathy that students have of their teachers as a protective ability against school stress and the actions that teachers carry out at times when children feel worried or stressed in their context educational. Research from the qualitative methodology carried out through the study of multiple cases; semi-structured interviews with teachers and schoolchildren and a workshop with children were used to collect information; the population 83 fourth grade students and 2 teachers of this grade. The results highlight that teachers who show empathy towards their students facilitate the adaptation of schoolchildren. It is concluded that it is imperative that teachers develop their empathic ability so that children perceive fewer situations as stressful in their educational context. Likewise, in the academic field, open and flexible communication must be enabled in the midst of well-being experiences that facilitate meaningful learning for boys and girls.

Objetivo. Dar a conocer algunos sentimientos, pensamientos y visiones que tienen los estudiantes de noveno grado frente al tema del acoso escolar. Metodología. Se basó en el paradigma cualitativo desde un enfoque hermenéutico privilegiándose el estudio de caso como la estrategia de investigación. Participaron 35 adolescentes de una institución educativa de Medellín a quienes se les aplicaron 16 técnicas interactivas y ocho entrevistas semiestructuradas. Resultados. Se encontró que los jóvenes consideran el suicidio como alternativa para enfrentar el acoso escolar. Conclusión. Es importante sensibilizar a los maestros a no limitar sus acciones al momento de evidenciar conductas agresivas entre los estudiantes sino más bien preocuparse por desarrollar la empatía entre estos, de tal manera que sean capaces de ponerse en el lugar del otro.
