This work aimed to analyze the mediating effect of rational and intuitive decision-making in the relationship between business intelligence and organizational agility. The model was tested in a sample of knowledge-intensive companies using structural equations. Regarding the results, business intelligence needs to be supported by rational processes to enhance its impact on organizational agility because the knowledge of the environment generated by business intelligence is better exploited when it goes through an analytical, systematic, and rule-based process than when it goes through a process based on experience and perception. In other words, in this scenario, rational decision-making converts the inputs provided by business intelligence into more accurate and agile organizational responses.
