El enfoque que hemos desarrollado en el presente trabajo se ubica en América Latina donde los procesos de incorporación a la modernidad están determinados por la construcción de una nueva categoría social y cultural: “sociedades de masas”. Por ello partimos de un hecho irrefutable: nuestras ciudades sufrieron un proceso de transformación durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, en este escenario tuvo lugar una reconfiguración a nivel social y cultural, en cuanto a los usos y consumos que de este orden se derivan y que plantean nuevas características dentro de la producción de bienes simbólicos. ABSTRACT The approach that we have developed in this following paper it is located in Latin America where the processes of incorporation into modernity are determined by the construction of a new social and cultural category “mass society”. So we decided to start from an irrefutable fact: our cities suffered a transformation process during the first half of the XX century, in this scenario took place a reconfiguration of social and cultural level, regarding the uses and consumption that from this order is derived and raise new features inside of the production of symbolic goods.
