Based on the research entitled “Equity and city coexistence in Bogota´s public space: contributions to teaching and urban management” (Universidad Pedagógica Nacional and Universidad Santo Tomás, Bogotá, 2007-2009), this article analyzes the methodology that attempts to establish narratives that circulated among youth groups in Bogotá. It also evaluates its contributions to the creation of coexistence and equity in the public space. It is worth to state that the research mentioned attempted to identify characteristics of different population groups in the city, and how they could be classified as favorable to equity in access, use of public space and coexistence among citizens. - Chasing a proposal for the combination of research methodologies

Research tends to show results and only in some specific instances, it exposes the creative process and the implementation of a methodological strategy. This article presents a description and an analysis of the methodological strategy designed for the study “Experiences on communication and development about the environment in Colombia’s Andean region”.Initially it explains the context of this project, then it highlights conceptual references, it describes the methodological design and the processes of gathering and classification of information in each phase, it mentions the difficulties, and the lessons derived from this project are also discussed at the end of this article. - Hermeneutics of the bodies

In the 80s, during the political and social conflict between the guerrillas and the Colombian state, the Patriotic Union (Unión Patriótica) grew and consolidated as a negotiated alternative different from traditional two parties. It also started to improve in the electoral landscape all over Colombia. Simultaneously, this was the beginning of one of the biggest waves of political violence and repression thatwould result in the extermination of this group. In the context of this genocide, the Armed Forces played an important role, by action and omission, and helped to construct a political discourse that described the UP as an enemy and consequently, they contributed to legitimize their annihilation. - The informative management about forced displacement in two Colombian electronic media: eltiempo.com and semana.com

This article presents the conclusion of a research about electronic media information in Colombia about forced displacement. The objective is to suggest that, in spite of the fact that mass media is a source of information that most people use, only few of them offer precise information. Based on financial statements reported by the main media and radio companies in Colombia, this article demonstrates supply and property concentration, as well as the existence of a hierarchy of sectors involved, according to their economic relevance. Additionally, based on a general media study –EGM– of the second semester of 2010, the article assesses the political importance of each sector in telecommunications: this is, infrastructure, radio diffusion and their contribution to the public sphere. - Table of contents

Beyond their aesthetic purposes, art and performance appear to be alternative forms of resistance, consciousness and visibility of political and social phenomena that attempt to generate and construct memory in favor of victims. Journalism was so relevant at the end of the Colony that once signed the Declaration of Independence, at dawn on July 21 of 1810, the Supreme Board of the New Kingdom of Granada decided to create a newspaper to divulge important facts concerning the emancipation. Thus was born, inspired by the ideas of the Enlightenment, La Constitución Feliz, on August 17 of 1810, with the insurmountable challenge of overcoming the dogmas of Catholicism, scholastic philosophy and political loyalty to the Spanish monarchy. This article recreates the history of this newspaper. - From the Director
