In Colombia, the goat production systems (PS) play an important role in the economy since it is evident that in some departments and rural areas of the country they work with large quantities, producing not only meat but also milk of this animal species. On the other hand, its contribution to the culture and gastronomic tradition of some sectors of the country is recognized. This is why the use of phytopharmaceuticals for the control of gastrointestinal nematodes is analyzed through a methodology of documentary and bibliographic review. This is seen as contributing to an improvement of the nutrition and well-being of goat PS, which provide the quality parameters and increased income for producers in the Colombian regions where this PS is becoming stronger. - Edaphic macrofauna in corn cultivation (zea mays) biofertilized with pork sludge, (perote-mexico)

Background: swine sludge bio fertilizers harbor a large amount of edaphic macro fauna, which facilitates the decomposition of organic matter. The application of these fertilizers in the corn crop (Zea mays L.), are an alternative source of fertilizer. Objective: to identify the presence of edaphic macro fauna in soils fertilized with porcine derived sludge, Perote (Mexico). Methodology: quantitative, using an experimental design. In the fieldwork, he used 6 “Pitfall” traps, randomly distributed in an area of 800 m² of corn (Zea mays L.) crops divided into 12 plots previously fertilized with doses of pig sludge. Later, the insects were collected inside the traps for identification. Shannon and Simpson analyzed the information in the BioDiversity Pro software, with indices. Results: 904 invertebrates were found; insects had a representation of 97.1% and arachnids 2.9%. According to the Shannon index (C), it was low in diversity and for the Simpson index (D), and there were no significant changes of the compound at the level of macrofauna diversity. Conclusions: within the study there was no presence of myriapods, the levels of diversity were low, however, trap 2 had a higher index (C), reaching 0.847. The trap located in plot 3 had index (S), 9.6. - Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR), A Disease Of Poor Control In Colombia

Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) is an infectious disease caused by herpesvirus type 1 (HVB-1) belonging to the genus Varicellovirus. Its distribution is worldwide, and it represents one of the principal causes of infertility and abortion in cattle, in addition to a decrease in production, causing economic losses. The infection can occur respiratory, conjunctival, vulvovaginal, with endemic abortions and septicemic form. Its transmission can be vertical and horizontal, in addition to having the ability to remain in a state of latency and then have periods of reactivation and re-excretion. The course and clinical manifestations of the disease depend on the anatomical site of infection, the age and the immune status of the carrier. The presumptive diagnosis of IBR can be made based on clinical, pathological, and epidemiological signs, but to make a definitive diagnosis, laboratory tests such as viral isolation, immunoperoxidase (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), serum neutralization, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) are required. Prophylaxis achieves by vaccination and the sacrifice of seropositive animals. The health and economic impacts of the RIB make it necessary to implement and reinforce national control programs and health training for ranchers, as well as progressive elimination of seropositive animals. For that reason, the objective was to review the IBR literature that allows addressing sanitary and epidemiological aspects of it. - Editor note

This paper analyzed the importance of productive projects in the reintegration process of ex-combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), in the rural settlement “Héctor Ramírez” located in Caquetá, after the signing of the Colombian peace process in 2017. In this regard, the research was characterized by being a descriptive study as a qualitative approach, using the semi-structured interview as a data collection instrument applied to ex-combatants to recognize their expectations about the productive projects that they have been developing in the camp. It was found that ex-combatants reinvest the earnings received in productive projects to achieve, under their criteria, possibilities of growth and financial return for the long term. In addition, they hope that the Colombian government will support the improvement of the commercialization processes of the products generated in the different projects. In this way, the standards of well-being at the personal and community level will be improved. - ¿Monkeypox: impacto potencial en la fauna neotropical y la producción animal?

A description of the degradation of pastures, its causes and consequences is presented, indicating how this deterioration process is related to changes in the vegetation and its narrow relationship with the grazing, which finally supports the importance of evaluating the capacity of load in established areas, in order to determine management aspects from the understanding of the problem and not as part of mercantilist or media strategies, which are currently maintained in tropical cattle ranches. - Effect of forage production of native and introduced pastures on dairy production in the Colombian Amazon

The effect of forage production of native and introduced pastures on milk production in nine municipalities of the department of Caquetá was evaluated. 68 herds with double purpose system were sampled during February 2016 until June 2019, in which the productive performance of pastures and cows in production were evaluated. Monthly, pastures were graded before the entrance of the cows in production, to estimate biomass production. Two days after the cows entered the pastures, individual milk weighing was performed. The information was tabulated in an Excel spreadsheet and analyzed using descriptive statistics using the Infostat statistical program version 2020 (Di Rienzo et al., 2020). To determine the effect of forage production on milk production, an analysis of variance was performed using the DGC multiple comparison test (p <0.05) taking into account the following equation: Y= μ + P+ F+ TR+ PTR+ βNP+ βMEL+ βMSV+ εTaking into account milk ijklmijkikilimioijkproduction, significant statistical differences (p <0.05) were found for pasture consumed, breed type, months of lactation and the interaction between pasture consumed and breed type, but no significant statistical difference was found. in the number of deliveries. In the present study, it was identified that among the pastures evaluated, the Pennisetum purpureumcv OM22 presented a greater amount of forage production and greater efficiency in milk production, as well as the effect that breed type and lactation has on production. - Volumen 14 number 1
