  • Diagnosis of the teaching of statistics using the Method of autonomous and meaningful learning

    Institución: Dirección de Educación Policial

Revista: Revista Logos Ciencia & Tecnología

    Autores: Ordoñez Rodríguez, Paola Dolores

Fecha de publicación en la Revista: 2015-11-15

This research aims to propose teaching strategies that facilitate autonomous and significant learning proposed by the pedagogical model Cafam university foundation in probability learning unit (statistical modeling of processes). Based on the knowledge we have of learning styles most prevalent among students, for which the questionnaire was applied Honey - Alonso Learning Styles (CHAEA) sixth semester students of industrial engineering and engineering eighth semester telematics. When starting the course of statistical probability modeling process). The results showed a preference for reflexive (19), followed by the Active (16), theoretical (12) and pragmatic (12). From this it was proposed strategy in the learning unit for students to improve their learning styles was to conduct descriptive research projects where students performed an analysis of data by applying the knowledge acquired in the learning unit. Once completed these projects and made her presentation of these, this proposed learning strategy was assessed by the survey student's learning style Grasha - Riechmann.
  • Arreglo de Antenas Patch para Sistemas de Comunicaciones Inalámbricas MIMO-LTE (4G)

    Institución: Dirección de Educación Policial

Revista: Revista Logos Ciencia & Tecnología

Autores: Rodríguez Araque, Eduardo; Rojas, Roberto G.

Fecha de publicación en la Revista: 2015-11-09

In this paper we present a compact MIMO array that operates in the 2.6 GHz for Long Term Evolution (LTE) band and wireless communication systems. The array consists of four compact patch antennas on a dielectric substrate with total dimensions of 125 mm x 62.5 mm x 1.27 mm. Modifications on the ground plane along with systematic placement and orientation of each antenna on top of the substrate plays a key role in reducing the mutual coupling which normally degrades the MIMO array performance. The Performance of this designed MIMO array is assessed through simulations and measurements of the scattering parameters, radiation patterns, and correlation coefficients.
  • Implementation of a virtual tool for the determination of trust
Trust is fundamental in relationships established everyday between people and organizations, and is a determining factor in the results and long-term relationships. The objective of this research is to develop a virtual educational tool, through which participants trust can be determined in settings and situations of everyday life, by making investments. For this, a literature review of the concept of trust and existing games focused on teaching, strengthen or measure the concept was performed, then the trust game proposed by Joyce Berg in 1995 and the extended trust game proposed in Universidad Nacional de Colombia and through simulation and investment scenarios, the proposed virtual game was developed in Adobe Flash CS6 Software. As a result of the research, a virtual tool was developed and a pilot testwere done with six people from Facultad de Minas de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín, during the 2014, and a preliminary analysis of the data were obtained and analyzed, verifying that the tool designed effectively can be applied in different environments, to determine trust in specific scenarios of everyday life.
  • Apps in the academic achievement and engineering student self
The research aimed to determine the influence of the use of my academic achievement of engineering students in differential equations. Through a quasi-experimental study compared two methods of teaching, through a group where students test differential equations using mobile applications as HD calculator, Wolfram Alpha-powered apps, and a control group that received no aid classes of applications during the I-2014 at the Francisco de Paula Santander University, Cucuta, Colombia, with test instruments such as self-concept, anxiety and results in evaluations; supported in qualitative methodology phenomenological, treated with content analysis strategy. Results: Improved academic performance of students, positive perception towards differential equations, improved levels of self-concept and anxiety scores decreased.
