Computational thinking emerges as a compelling skill to develop in K-12 students who are faced with having to adapt better and faster to highly digitized environments. This article is a documented reflection based on published papers between 2017 and 2021 about the use of visual programming as a pedagogical tool for the development of computational thinking in this group of students. The review mainly demonstrated the need to make contributions to constructing a reference framework and evaluation standards for the use of these tools in the classroom, as well as the need to address and apply approaches, not limited to the use of the computer as the only means of learning computational thinking - Design of Mobile Robot for Humanitarian Demining Tasks

In the present work the design of a mobile platform with automatic displacement for the detection of metals is shown. The device has a square geometry with an area of 5 m2, which is intended to help specialists for the detection of explosive mines, reducing the detection time of explosives and reducing the risk of accidents. The platform consists of four support columns, each one has a system of pulleys and winches that are attached to a final actuator by means of ropes, where a sensor is installed for the detection of metal elements positioned horizontally and parallel to the ground, with movement in two planes without touching the floor, reducing the possibility of detonation of a mine. It also includes a program that generates an exploration path of the terrain to locate the metals intuitively, with a marking mechanism by spray paint. For the design of the system, the V methodology was used, which facilitates concurrent design - Medical Prediagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus using Machine Learning

The article presents the development of a system to pre-diagnose type 2 diabetes mellitus. The pre-diagnosis process consists of three measurement stages; anamnesis, physical examination and a complementary examination. As a result, the probability of suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus is disclosed through neural networks that use as inputs: age, gender, height, weight, abdominal circumference, family history related to diabetes, pathology and state of pregnancy if applicable. Perceptrons were used to classify the patterns and the results were validated with Clarke's consensus error analysis grid, making it possible to obtain a non-invasive pre-diagnosis system with a probability of success of no less than 90% - Efficacy of Behavioral Activation Therapy in Anxiety and Depression Symptoms: Case Report

Anxiety and depression are emerging as the most prevalent psychological disorders worldwide; becoming a public health problem. There are currently multiple evidence-based treatments that help reduce the impact of these disorders on the lives of people who suffer from them. This article shows the application of Behavioral Activation Therapy in a woman who presented symptoms of anxiety and depression derived from a couple breakup. The intervention was given in a total of 9 sessions, where activity programming and mindfulness strategies were worked on. Two psychometric instruments were applied, the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), as well as a weekly mastery and pleasure self-report. Among the results obtained, changes were observed between the pre-treatment (IAB=43 and IDB=40) and post-treatment (IAB=2 and IDB=4) scores and an increase in the domain and pleasure dimensions of the self-report. Under these results we can mention that the intervention was clinically effective, however, it is suggested to do other studies with more rigorous methodological designs - Implementation of Augmented Reality in the Logistics of Automated Warehouses

This document demonstrates the potential of augmented reality and wearable technologies according to research on the tools that are used for the optimization of logistics in warehouses for storage and distribution, which are adapted to the technologies of augmented reality to obtain benefits such as the focus on effectiveness and efficiency seeking to improve and reduce time, costs, problems related to inventories and space management. Said research proposed in this document, wants to identify the existing opportunities by incorporating augmented reality, also assuming the great optimization opportunity offered by the use in parallel with the wearable technology tools, tools which are the ring scanner, for the detection of QR or bar codes, the body computer where information and data management is carried out, picking technology by voice and with these tools complement the technology that you want to implement, which is augmented reality, which It will be made up of glasses with augmented reality lenses. It has been shown that the use of these tools achieve a great advance in the optimization of the logistics system, as evidenced by logistics trends for 2021 is the automation of the picking process, this causing fewer errors and more productivity (multipacking, 2021) - Brief Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention in a patient with feelings of guilt derived from gender violence: A clinical case

Violence against women represents a worldwide problem that affects the physical and psychological integrity of the person who suffers it. One of the frequent problems in women who experience violence in addition to fear and anxiety are thoughts of guilt. The objective of this clinical case is to describe the effects of a brief Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention on the guilt derived from physical aggression suffered by a young woman from Mexico City. The intervention consisted of seven sessions in which techniques such as psychoeducation, deep diaphragmatic breathing, cognitive distraction, and behavioral experiments were used. Clinical changes were assessed with the Mood State Assessment Scale (EVEA), the Scale to measure feelings of guilt (SC-35), and weekly self-records of the frequency and intensity of the response. The results reveal clinical changes in the EVEA (pre=75%, post=90%) and in the SC-35 (pre=115, post=64). These changes were maintained at a one-month follow-up. It is concluded that the intervention was clinically significant for the patient, allowing to reduce the perceived discomfort, however, it is suggested to include a gender perspective and psychoeducational processes for the identification of other dimensions of violence in the approach of this type of case - Design of a Trapezoidal Motion Profile to the Physical Implementation of a 3P Cartesian Robot Prototype

This paper presents a detailed overview of a 3P cartesian robotic system, represented in a scaled automated car park prototype, employing the 8 bits microcontroller PIC18F4550, the process started with the development of the used trapezoidal profile, continuing with its later discretization and its parameterization in order to implement it to the microcontroller. Secondly, it is shown the algorithm and the considerations considered during the programming of the dispositive with the XC8® compiler. Finally, it is made a comparative between the advantages of employing a trapezoidal profile and the possible enhancements to be implemented according to the available hardware in such a way that it can be used in academic environments especially during the designs of motion profiles for prototypes with limited computational capacity - Multitemporal and Spatial Analysis of Forest Cover in Colombia during 1992-2015

Forests provide a wide range of ecosystem services and goods. Accelerated population growth and socio-econocmic activities have trigged serious environmental pressures. These pressures induce spatio-temporal variations on forests extent affecting ecosystem services and goods supply. In this work, we performed an analysis of forests cover dynamics in Colombia during 1992-2015 based on Kappa’s concordance matrix. Matrix’s components were determined from observational data of annual maps derived from satellite data by the Climate Change Initiative of the European Spatial Agency. Results suggest that forests cover in Colombia was reduced at a rate of 1.199,7 km2/year between 1992 and 2004, while was recovered at a rate of 414,7 km2/year between 2004 and 2015. The reduction during the first period was higher than the recovery of the second period, representing 9.834 km2 of net loss. The main forests-related transitions were triggered by agriculture. Furthermore, our analysis shows that departments with greater loss were Meta (3.914,9 km2), Caquetá (3.310,4 km2) y Antioquia (3.066,9 km2), while departments with greater gain were Antioquia (1.619,0 km2), Santander (1.238,4 km2) y Caquetá (1.050,2 km2). These results complement previous studies in Colombia, show the usefulness of an alternative data source, and constitute a basic input for the territories and forest management in departmental scale
