    Institución: Universidad de Pamplona

    Revista: Revista Psicología y Sociedad

    Autores: Yace Melenge, Iván José

Fecha de publicación en la Revista: 2025-08-23

The armed conflict in Cauca has had a devastating impact on Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and peasant women, who have faced multiple forms of violence and exclusion. Among the main aggressions are forced displacement, sexual violence, and the loss of their means of livelihood. These forms of violence not only physically affect women but also create profound psychological and cultural scars that are transmitted intergenerationally, perpetuating trauma within communities. The concept of cultural trauma is essential to analyzing these experiences, as it describes how catastrophic events transform the collective identity of a community. Women in Cauca have endured trauma that combines the impact of the armed conflict with historical structures of oppression, such as patriarchy, racism, and territorial dispossession. For Afro-descendant communities, these experiences are marked by a legacy of slavery and exploitation, while for Indigenous communities, they represent an extension of colonial processes.

Are we paying too high a price for the convenience and entertainment digital worlds offer? The proliferation of virtual platforms has transformed ways of interacting, learning, and spending leisure time. However, constant immersion in digital environments can affect mental health, particularly in adolescents. Exposure to unfiltered content, the creation of digital identities, and difficulty in differentiating boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds are factors that influence the emergence of psychological issues. It is necessary to analyze the mechanisms through which technology affects emotional well-being and to propose strategies aimed at reducing the risks associated with its use.
  • From policy to practice: Challenges of Law 2460 of 2025 for community mental health in Colombia

    Institución: Universidad de Pamplona

    Revista: Revista Psicología y Sociedad

    Autores: Becerra-Millán , Leonardo

Fecha de publicación en la Revista: 2025-08-23

The approval of Law 2460 of 16 June 2025 by the Colombian Congress, which amends Law 1616 of 2013, represents an important change in mental health policy in this country. This article examines the new regulatory framework from a critical, analytical, and interpretative perspective where the central thesis of this law promotes a transition towards a more humane, comprehensive, and community-based care, aligned with international recommendations. However, this transformation faces structural and epistemological problems that hinder its implementation. The methodology of this paper is based on recent national and international sources, together with a critical analysis of the proposed legislative changes, and based on a critical review of recent academic and regulatory literature (2013-2025), selected based on criteria of timeliness, disciplinary relevance, and contribution to the understanding of public policies in mental health. The comparative analysis between laws was carried out under a socio-political interpretative approach. The results highlight the urgency of modifying professional training, consolidating territorial processes, and promoting greater collaboration between sectors and communities. In conclusion, the correct application of the Law will depend on the commitment of institutional actors, political will, and the collective construction of a new ethic of mental health care. This reflection raises future lines of action from psychology and the social sciences to support the normative transition towards a fairer, more participatory, and sustainable model.

  • Gender Dilemmas in Childhood: Exploring Stereotypes in the Construction of Identity

    Institución: Universidad de Pamplona

    Revista: Revista Psicología y Sociedad

    Autores: Gómez-Acosta, Karen Melissa

Fecha de publicación en la Revista: 2025-08-23

This bibliographic review of recent literature provides a critical and updated perspective on constructing gender identity and roles in different contexts. This article examines how gender factors affect self-perception, socialization, and interaction with cultural and social environments from birth. It highlights that the sex assigned at birth establishes an essential identity trait, projecting social roles and expectations, and consolidating collective imaginaries of what is considered "appropriate" for each gender. These cultural constructions, present even before birth, shape aspects such as name selection, colors, games, and behavioral norms, creating an identity narrative aligned with the female-male binary.
