La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo establecer la asociación existente entre síntomas de trastornos alimentarios y la ideación e intento suicida en adolescentes de grado octavo a undécimo de instituciones educativas de tres ciudades del departamento de Boyacá, Colombia. Se realizó una estrategia descriptiva con un diseño selectivo probabilístico transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 1292 participantes seleccionados mediante muestreo probabilístico estratificado. Con el fin de indagar los factores protectores y de riesgo para la ideación suicida, la presencia de acto suicida y el tamizaje de trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, se aplicó el cuestionario PANSI (Osman, Gutiérrez, Kopper, Barrios & Chiros, 1998), la encuesta sociodemográfica elaborada por las autoras y el SCOFF (Morgan, Reid & Lacey, 1999), respectivamente. Los resultados muestran que del total de participantes, el 17.8 % (230) piensan en el suicidio como alternativa y que el 42 % de quienes registran sintomatología relacionada con trastornos alimentarios presentan ideación suicida negativa (riesgo). En conclusión, se identificó una correlación baja, pero significativa, entre los trastornos alimentarios y el PANSI negativo (rs = .19 y p = .00), lo que sugiere que a mayor presencia de señales de alarma de trastornos alimentarios, más factores de riesgo de ideación suicida.

Esta investigación de tipo cualitativo asumió el enfoque comprensivo de la metodología fenomenológica (Creswell, 1998) con el fin comprender la construcción de identidades de 5 jóvenes en situación de protección en la ciudad de Sogamoso-Boyacá. Los relatos de estos jóvenes evidencian la necesidad permanente de buscar en su edad adulta protección en otro tipo de instituciones y dificultad en la consolidación de sus proyectos de vida.

Background: The Colombian armed conflict has been classified as one of the oldest in the world, with a death toll of 262,197 among civilians and combatants. Objective: This study described the meaning of peace built by adolescents and young people who are victims of the armed conflict in central Colombia, on the basis of the importance of incorporating their voices into the processes of building cultures of peace. Methodology: There were 40 participants, 13 men and 27 women between the ages of 15 and 24, who were selected through convenience sampling. Natural semantic networks were used as an information collection technique, which is classified as a hybrid method of data collection that arises from the need to approach meanings and their organization in the form of a network. Results: The greatest semantic weight is found in words such as respect, understanding, tranquility, well-being, coexistence, and tolerance. Likewise, the categorical set of positive peace represents 96.86% of the network of meanings built by the participants, which is oriented to the transformation of conflicts in a non-violent and creative way. Conversely, it is important to mention the absence of elements of meaning related to negative peace.  

The purpose of this descriptive study was to identify the presence of suicidal attempt and suicidal ideation, sexual abuse and the relationship among these variables, in high school students from three towns in Boyaca, Colombia. This study was conducted with 1,292 participants whose ages ranged between 12 and 20 years old. The instruments used were a sociodemographic survey and the Positive and Negative Suicide Ideation Inventory. Statistically significant differences in the variables studied were found. Among the most relevant findings of this research, it was found that young victims of sexual abuse with penetration have had suicidal attempts (1.9%); moreover, 48% of the victims have suicidal ideation.
