This work aims to show the possible relationship between technical progress which is the largest source of growth in world economies and stock market fluctuations, because normally, when stock markets are in crisis, this crisis is transmitted to the real sector of economies. To show this relationship, we take the calculation of the technical progress made by Bernal (2010) which is alternative to the Solow method and related to the stock market variables as indices of the stock exchanges. We conclude that there is a relationship between the behavior of real economic activity and stock market behavior, more precisely, it is possible to establish a clear relationship between the stock market and technical progress.
