The effect of forage production of native and introduced pastures on milk production in nine municipalities of the department of Caquetá was evaluated. 68 herds with double purpose system were sampled during February 2016 until June 2019, in which the productive performance of pastures and cows in production were evaluated. Monthly, pastures were graded before the entrance of the cows in production, to estimate biomass production. Two days after the cows entered the pastures, individual milk weighing was performed. The information was tabulated in an Excel spreadsheet and analyzed using descriptive statistics using the Infostat statistical program version 2020 (Di Rienzo et al., 2020). To determine the effect of forage production on milk production, an analysis of variance was performed using the DGC multiple comparison test (p <0.05) taking into account the following equation: Y= μ + P+ F+ TR+ PTR+ βNP+ βMEL+ βMSV+ εTaking into account milk ijklmijkikilimioijkproduction, significant statistical differences (p <0.05) were found for pasture consumed, breed type, months of lactation and the interaction between pasture consumed and breed type, but no significant statistical difference was found. in the number of deliveries. In the present study, it was identified that among the pastures evaluated, the Pennisetum purpureumcv OM22 presented a greater amount of forage production and greater efficiency in milk production, as well as the effect that breed type and lactation has on production.
