In this paper we propose an onomasiological approach preceding the speech moment and its forms of expression in Spanish from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and the theory of semantic-functional fields. The research that gives rise to this article that starts to be realized in 2012 corresponds to the doctoral thesis “The Previousness to the Speech Moment and Its Forms of Expression in Cuban Spanish”, which will be defended at the Universidad de La Habana (Cuba) and the Universidad de Cadiz (Spain). The author belongs to the research group “Semantic Studies” of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Universidad de La Habana, and the group “Humanities Bernardo Alderete, hum 195” of the Universidad de Cadiz.
