This study aimed to analyze the body, maturational and physical profile of under-18 futsal athletes and compare performance in tests with and without the ball between starters and substitutes, as well as between different game positions. A descriptive and comparative study was carried out, of a battery of validated physical tests, which are related to the physical qualities inherent to the futsal sport, that is, the greatest possible specificity. The results showed that there are physical differences between the positions, but significantly, only the fixed one showed lower height than the others. Among the starters and substitutes, there was also a variation between the groups, mainly in the 10-meter sprint test. In most of the physical results, the inclusion of the ball generated a significant slowdown in the results, interfering with the tests. It is concluded that the use of greater specificity in the performance of physical tests in futsal, that is, the inclusion of ball handling, often changes the results, and may be a good alternative in the analysis of the athletes' performance improvement.
