The present study aims to analyze the motivational aspects that influence the practice of physical exercises by older people in a gym in the city of Cabo Frio-RJ, Brazil. The study was observational and cross-sectional and used the IMPRAF-126 questionnaire to verify the factors that encourage older people to practice physical exercise in six domains: stress control, health, sociability, competitiveness, aesthetics, and pleasure. Twenty-one older people with an average of 67.2 ± 5.2 years old were analyzed, including 9 men and 12 women, who practiced resistance training, hydrogymnastic, swimming, and zumba. It was found that most interviewees have relevant motivating factors in the dimensions of health, pleasure and stress control, and the identified factor that least motivates was competitiveness. This can contribute to actions within the academy to improve services that generate motivation in older people.

- Conventional Ratio of Knee Flexors and Extensors Obtained Using an Isokinetic Dynamometer and Isoinertial Devices

This study aimed to analyze the conventional ratio values of knee flexors and extensors obtained using an isokinetic dynamometer (IsoRatio), an adjusted torque test of 5RM (Ratio5RM), and absolute values of 5RM (Ratio5RML). Fifteen male volunteers (28.47 ± 5.78 years; 78.30 ± 6.59kg; 1.79 ± 0.65m) performed a 5RM test on leg extension and leg curl machines. The volunteers executed knee flexion and extension movements at 60°/s angle speed without significant differences between protocols. Regression analysis showed that the Ratio5RML correlates with the isokinetic reference ratio (r=0.649; p=0.009). The result of the paired t-test showed no significant difference between the means of the isokinetic ratio and the ratio predicted by the equation. The results of the present study suggest that the 5RM test performed with isoinertial machines can be used to estimate conventional ratio and identify imbalance between the knee flexors and extensors muscles. - Effects of confinement on the level of stress in submariners: A systematic review

To analyze the effects of confinement on the level of stress in submariners. a systematic review was carried out, whose search was carried out in the MEDLINE, Cochrane, Web of Science, SCOPUS and Embase databases in (June 2023), following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The search equations were prepared, with the descriptors “submariners” and “Stress” or “Stress, Psychological”, “Psychological Distress”, “Occupational Stress”, “Stress Disorders”, “Stresses Tests”, “Perceived Stress”, with synonyms. In the databases: Pubmed, Cochrane, Web of Science, SCOPUS and Embase. Studies were included that sampled submariners, whose results were indicators of stress. From a total of 1,905 articles, 8 eight studies were included in the review. Different stress assessment instruments were found, such as questionnaires, inventories, scales, ECG; salivary cortisol and nocturnal urinary excretion of free cortisol. The stressors that stood out with confinement in submariners were post-traumatic, occupational, organizational, psychosocial stress and general stressors in the individual's life. - Influence of warm-up, physical activity level, and body fat percentage on the reaction time of punches and kicks in adult kickboxing practitioners

The aim of this present study is to investigate the influence of warm-up, physical activity level, and body fat percentages on the reaction time of punches and kicks in adult kickboxing practitioners. The sample consisted of 20 kickboxing practitioners. Physical activity level was evaluated by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form, body composition by electrical bioimpedance, and reaction time by the mobile application TReaction. The direct punch and the kick with no warm-up had the highest reaction times (p<0.05) when compared with after warm-up and after the two-minute rounds. There were correlations between kick with no warm-up reaction time and fat percentage (r=0.524; p=0.018), and kick with no warm-up and physical activity level (r=-0.560; p=0.010). The physical activity level and the percentage of body fat are variables that interfere with kickboxers’ kick reaction time. Furthermore, the warm-up had a positive influence on the reduction of the reaction time of punches. - Validation of a questionnaire for the perception of physical education professionals in remote activities

Just few months after the first cases of the disease caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) in China, the WHO officially declared the world to be in a pandemic. Considering it was a new situation, the orientation of physical exercise through digital resources, brings with it particularities that were unknown until then. To validate a questionnaire for the perception of physical education professionals in remote activities and to analyze sports programs in remote activities during the pandemic and social distancing by physical education professionals. Descriptive research that is related by interview technique, and correlational of an exploratory nature, using the Delphi method. Nineteen specialists participated in the evaluation of the questionnaire, reaching 4 rounds to obtain 100% agreement. The questionnaire to be applied will provide relevant information about the profile of the physical education professional, who has been using remote activities as part of their work activities.
