Modern life imply changes that conduce to choose pets that demand little attention by owners. On the other hand, advance in medical and therapeutic knowledgement and surgical skills has allowed that the life spin of domestic animals will be longer. The domestic cat show a clear tendency to be the pet of predilection due their independence. This is a specie that has been accompanied the man from old times and it should be approached with special attention because in spite of the physical resemblance with canines is different on the matter of their necessities, behavior and reproduction. The oldness is a physiologic state during which phisical and biochemical changes occur and diverse illness processes can be predisposed. Oldness in cats brings a series of physiologic changes on organic systems that conduce to changes on nutritional requirements. The veterinary should be prepared to assist a day to day higher volume of oldness patients (canines and felines). - Caracterización de las derivadas precordiales en electrocardiografía para caninos sanos

In human, the lead precordial, have defined importance, however, didn’t know in veterinary medicine of small animals (canine). This work, looked by means of registrations electrocardiography, considering those lead bipolar (I, II, III), unipolares (aVR, aVL, aVF) and precordiales (V2, V4, V5 and V6), in 100 canines, crossbreeds and Poodle, with the objective of characterizing the behavior of the lead precordiales clinically in canine healthy. Choose 50 animals of each race, males and females in same proportion, in a range of 1.5 and 7 years of age. Once the 100 registrations electrocardiographys were obtained, they were interpreted according to the groups, making a descriptive analysis of the tendency of the waves in each lead precordial, based on the measures of central tendency (the medium one, fashion, average, values minimum and maximum, and standard deviation). The values get include the variables outlined for the investigation, what meant that the race, the sex, the age and the weight, they don’t influence significantly in the tendency of the lead precordiales. - Técnica invasiva designada a la laparoscopia exploratoria de la cavidad abdominal en la especie canina

Invasive technique for exploratory laparoscopy in the abdominal cavity of dogs. Exploratory Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic technique that can be used instead of exploratory (laparatomy) to explore the abdominal cavity, without having the associated effects of an open surgery such as long recovery, pain, and larger tissue manipulation. Laparoscopies were performed in 30 dogs (15 males). Ageranged 1.5 to 12 years and weight 5 to 25 Kg. All procedures were done under general anesthesia, and using a flexible fibrogastroscope. CO2was used to induce pneumoperitoneo. To develop the more appropriate technique that enable us the use of the flexible endoscope, three different surgical protocols to approach the abdominal cavity were tested. It was determined that for the use of flexible endoscope, intraumbilical incision was the most feasible protocol. Our observations indicate that this technique could be used to explore the ventral part of liver, stomach, spleen, and diaphragm. However, the exploration of descendent duodenum, descendent colon, kidney, pancreas, uterus, and ovaries is less feasible. Although this technique provides a general view of the abdominal cavity, it does not allow detailed organ examination.
