Western science seems to be seen as the sole purpose of science education teaching. This situation envisions one of the main difficulties in the training of teachers that is circumscribed by a diversity of knowledge rooted in a multiethnic and multicultural nation as ours. This article presents the research results of the doctoral thesis “Conceptions of science from the perspective of cultural diversity in teachers of bachelor’s degree programs in natural sciences and environmental education in Colombia”. Initially, it exposes current trends related to the conceptions of science existing in teachers from the framework of cultural diversity and its relationship with teaching. Subsequently, it describes a methodological body that, from the design and validation of two instruments (situations in context and questionnaires on content representations), allowed to analyze the object of research in teachers and master documents of three initial teacher training programs distributed in three culturally differentiated regions of the country. Finally, the universalist epistemology is found as a fundamental aspect that stands out in the training of science teachers in our territory.

El Coloquio realizado durante el año 2019 fue espacio académico y formativo que desde diversas experiencias permitió identificar aquellas tendencias que en la actualidad se encuentran asociadas a las prácticas investigativas en el campo de las ciencias naturales, presentando un nuevo panorama desde la reflexión que pueda incidir en la transformación de una educación superior más ajustada a las demandas de la sociedad. La investigación permanente en las ciencias naturales trasciende en la innovación tecnológica y científica en el campo de la salud, la industria, el deporte y la educación, potencializando el crecimiento y consolidando el desarrollo educativo local, nacional e internacional. Las temáticas que fueron asociadas a las diferentes participaciones en el marco del coloquio se orientaron al campo de las ciencias naturales como: biología celular, biología molecular, biotecnología, biología vegetal, biología animal, ecología y ambiente, uso de recursos naturales, microbiología, etnobotánica, química aplicada, enseñanza de las ciencias naturales.

El Té de Bogotá (Symplocos theiformis Oken) es una especie altoandina con potencial agroalimentario, que se está viendo afectada por el efecto antrópico que deteriora sus hábitats. Este documento presenta inicialmente un aporte historiográfico de la planta, continuando con una metodología que busca conocer las características bromatológicas y fitoquímicas. Finalmente, se exponen algunos de sus posibles usos gastronómicas a través de su preparación como infusión.

The research developed is carried out through a global characterization, in which national and local scenarios provide an approach to the concept of tutoring explored from the analysis of the progression hypotheses, which identify the current state of the Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina, in relation to the processes of academic and comprehensive support for students. The research is developed from the qualitative paradigm, taking as a reference the multiple case study, through the formulation of a progression hypothesis, which determines one of the forms of presentation of results. The content analysis of the different units of information, obtained through the categories proposed in the systema­tization of the tutorial experiences of certain universities, allowed to identify the tendency to which the tutorial process points at a global level, as well as to determine the current state of the institution of higher education in this regard.
