This study examined the connection between parental aggression and empathy, and how these factors influence juvenile offenders. Fathers showed more physical aggression and hostility, while mothers showed more verbal aggression. Mothers' verbal aggression was related to higher aggression in other areas and lower empathic concern. In contrast, fathers' aggression was more physical than verbal, with no correlation to empathy. The research concludes that parental aggression predicts young offenders' aggression, with mothers' verbal aggression and fathers' physical aggression being significant predictors. However, parental empathy did not significantly predict youth empathy. In particular, mothers' anger was inversely related to their empathic concern. Fathers' physical aggression and anger were interrelated, but unrelated to empathy.
